Seriously. Why does a new hair dryer have a twelve-page how-to manual, but when it comes to ancient demon-fighting hocus-pocus, my biker witch granny gives me just half a dozen switch stars and a rah-rah speech? Oh, and a talking terrier, but that's another story. It's not like my job as a preschool teacher prepared me for this kind of thing.

So I've decided to write my own manual, The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers, because no one tells me anything. Dimitri, my "protector," may be one stud of a shape-shifting griffin, but he always thinks he can handle everything by himself. Only he's no match for the soul-stealing succubi taking over Las Vegas. If I can't figure out how to save him - and Sin City - there'll be hell to pay.

The premise for this book is promising but it doesn't quite deliver. It has all the parts for a great book yet the slapstick humour doesn't resound. Fox writes similarly to Janet Evanovich which is a positive but maybe I've grown sick of it. Lizzie is a well meaning character but to me she came across as disorganised and self centered. Demtri seems like a great guy for the few moments he appears but otherwise is significantly absent. I admit I've just started the series but what I've read hasn't drawn me in for more.

I didn't find the jokes particularly funny and the storyline was slightly dull. I ended up skipping a few pages to get to the end which didn't amount to much because everything still made sense. It's not a horrible book but it doesn't have much pizzazz or spark for me. I won't be picking up the next book in the series but others have had good things to say about it so it may appeal to you. Give it a go if you love Stephanie Plum and wouldn't mind a paranormal twist or Grandma Mazur in a motorcycle gang.

Kessler has a way with paranormal romance and her latest release is no exception. Tegan is a kick butt female lead who was assaulted but refuses to let herself be the victim. She is now a black belt in some martial art and  wont hesitant to beat the crap outta someone if necessary. But just because she is stronger doesn't mean she isn't prone to weakness or fear and that's what I love about her. Her strength comes from overcoming her fear of being helpless, attacked or hurt.

Gabe, the slayer is more than simply human but his attraction to Tegan is sweet. They both fight against it because of their working relationship, hired help and all that jazz. It was annoying how dumb they both were when it came to their feelings but I forgave them for it. They were too cute and funny to stay mad at for long.

The plot was a good mix of romance and intrigue with a few surprise twists at the end to keep you on your toes. I have to admit Maddock, Tegan's Welsh father stole my heart for favorite character with his gruff, sweet way of going about life. I definitely recommend Beg Me to Slay if you're in the mood for paranormal romance!

I LOVE THIS BOOK! Jilly is a total kick ass take no prisoners leading lady and I adore her. She doesn't take crap from anyone and has no qualms doing what needs to be done even breaking into someones house. With a sassy sense of humour to match, hacker geek hot chick Jilly has to be one of my favourite characters ever. I think her inner geek brings out my inner geek and can't help but want to meet her, work with her and be best friends forever! But she's not always as strong and fiery as I make out, Jilly has a past that haunts her and she wears her make-up like an armor. Her family is a bunch of criminal types and keeps her distance from them. Then sexy virtual hot shot Genesis Adam materializes onto the scene, literally and Jilly is thrown into a whirlwind virtual game romance. Genesis Adam is wickedly funny and the perfect match for Jilly. They push, challenge, laugh and get all nerdy and sweet. Their energy together is electric, the sex is crazy awesome and I just wanted all of the world's happiness for them both.

The plot to this second book of the Serafina's series was so much more interesting than the first. I was being surprised at every turn and as I do with every good mystery novel - I was making guesses like crazy about who was guilty. I definitely was NOT expecting the person it turned out to be and the sneaky twist Treanor adds in had me screaming like I'd won a million dollars, I was so happy! I admit to having misgivings about Jilly's story especially because I hadn't enjoyed book one very much but I enjoyed every page of this book! There is sharp wit and genuineness that was lacking in book one. I love Jilly and Genesis' story so much I will definitely be buying a copy to keep on my e-reader. I recommend that you read this book even if you didn't enjoy book one because Jilly and Genesis stole my heart and I hope they steal yours too!
